All kids think they're the center of the universe. This one got reinforcement from a crowd at the World Series parade. He raised his hand for a photo, and the crowd across the street cheered him on. Liking what he heard (he's all, "I like the sound of that!"), he did it again. And again. And again. And I could watch this again, and again, and again, too! Go, baby!

I almost forgot about this adorable kid. She was 7 when someone recorded her hamming it up while playing the organ, so she must be a whopping 8-years-old now. She is having so much fun, and is in such command of this instrument, that when her teacher or father comes by to check her progress, the force field of her confidence forces him to beat a retreat. (I love her little wrist motions, too and the sudden smile.) What a cutie!

So this guitar prodigy, Sungha Jung, locked himself in his room for 60 hours after a fight with his mother and learned Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." He didn't just learn it. He puts an interesting, haunting spin on it. I get in a fight with my mother? I just eat a whole bag of potato chips and drink too much scotch. I guess that's what separates mere mortals like myself from 11-year-old guitar prodigies.

Criss Angel Turns 8-Year-Old Girl Into 20-Year-Old

The illusionist (how's that different from a magician again?) Criss Angel performs some trick so that it looks like a child turns into a 20-year-old. I'm actually not all that interested in this trick. (She's standing on a table, I'm sure something's going on under the table we don't know about.) Instead, I was too busy being unsettled by his approaching an 8-year-old child and turning her into a barely legal adult, especially when he asks her mother, "Can I try something with your daughter?" Ewww. Great choice of words.

We're used to seeing weirdos and no-talents perform on America's Got Talent, but the following will warm your heart and bring a tear to your eye. Nine-year-old David here was diagnosed with autism and didn't speak until he was three. The guy who drove his bus to school, though, told his mom he would sing all the way to school and all the way back. What a treat! He's got a lovely little voice reminiscent of Michael Jackson's as a kid. And here he is singing "Ben." (Sniffle, sniffle.)

Drop Dead Fred, a wickedly immature comedy about maintaining imaginary friends into adulthood and blaming "them" for one's obscene behavior, was one of my fave movies in the early '90s — naturally. The irreverent tyke in the following scene portrays the protagonist as a young girl. Her response to her mother's lame-ass bedtime story is quite possibly the best advice any growing girl (or grown woman) could ever hear. Listen. Very. Carefully.
