I was floored when Bush got in for a second term. I wanted to cry.
I was like wtf?! They voted him in AGAIN?!

I am not going to know what to think if McCain/Palin get in. (And much to my dismay, they probably will)

I say give everyone a fair shake, whether they're Republican or Democrat. Just give 'em a break and see what they'll do. I won't be voting for Obama, but I won't weep and threaten to move to Canada if he wins. If he does well for the country, that will be awesome. If he sends us back to 1929 - well, that will suck. Obama has done well to try to saddle McCain with Bush's crappo legacy, but I think he'd be different. I doubt Obama would mean the widely sweeping change he claims he would be, also. So, I figure either way is a draw, honestly. When it comes down to it, none of them are all that different. I think Bush pretty much sucks, but not all of the US's current problems can be blamed on him. Some things have been brewing longer than he's been in power.

I keep hearing people saying that they will move to Canada is McCain wins moto.
Why would a people who don't even give us a second thought and know basically nothing about us want to retreat here? It bugs me big time when I hear it, because what makes them think we want them here?! Embarassed

Yeah - Twink - the economy is in the sh*tter, but it can't be put solely on Bush's administration.

Jinx - I had a few friends threaten to move to Canada if Bush was re-elected in '04. They're all still here.

It was a joke GS. There are many to blame here. I have discussed this topic with you before! We are all friends in this group.

    (I was just joking, SL.)

It really is a non-partisan, government-wide issue that has taken years (more than eight) to fester and blow up as it has recently. To blame it on one side over the other ignores loads of proposed bills and passed legislation - from both the Democrats and the Republicans - that enabled this to happen, as well as things that could have hindered it. It's ignorant to try to paint a single person or party. It's a failure of government and investing.

So, in essence, I think everyone from Jimmy Carter to George Bush sucks ass. But, so do people who make $30,000 a year and think they can afford at $300,000 house. ...whether those slimy mortgage companies told them they could or not. Smiling
