Product of the Day: Sangaria "Beer" For Kids

I remember when I was a kid, they used to sell candy cigarettes. What could possibly have been the point of that except to get us kids all ready to smoke the real ones when the time came? Well, here's another bad idea of the day: fake beer for kids. Japanese company Sangaria even sells this stuff in six packs (?!) and plans to expand its line to include non-alcoholic wine and champagne for kids. Yeah--it's called grape juice and soda, people!

I used to have the Popeye's candy cigarettes and chocolate cigars from Laura Secord all the time when I was little. Who knew I would end up so anti-smoking? They also used to sell Dad's rootbeer and creamsoda, and some sort of Saspirella in beer bottles near my grandma's house. We thought we were soooo badass taking the labels off and pretending we were drinking when we were 8.
